start by:a) remove drive axles (front only)b) remove front drive shaft1. Drain the oil from the axle housing.
Connect the anti-pivot link to the main frames of the machine before the machine is lifted.
2. Put wood blocks behind the rear wheels. Use two 50 ton screw jacks and lift the front of the machine approximately 5 in. (12.7 cm). Install tooling (A) as shown. 2. Disconnect lines (2) from block (3). Put caps or plugs in the lines. Remove bolts (1), then remove block (3) from the differential housing. 3. Remove the bolts that hold the differential and bevel gear to the axle housing except for bolts (4). 4. Fasten tool (B) to the differential and bevel gear as shown. Remove the remainder of the bolts from the differential. Install two 3/4"-10 NC forcing screws (5) and loosen the differential and bevel gear from the axle housing. Use tool (B) to remove front differential and bevel gear (6). The weight of the differential and bevel gear is 620 lb. (279 kg).Install Front Differential And Bevel Gear (824C)
1. Fasten tool (B) to the differential and bevel gear. Install two 3/4"-10 NC guide pins (1) in the axle housing as shown. Use tool (B) to install front differential and bevel gear (2) in the axle housing. Install the bolts that hold the differential to the axle housing. 2. Install block (3) on top of differential housing with the bolts that hold it. 3. Remove plugs or caps from the lines (4), then connect them to the block.4.
