Air under pressure can cause personal injury. Release the pressure from the air system before any lines are removed or disconnected.
To prevent personal injury, release the pressure from the hydraulic system before any lines are removed or disconnected.
1. Disconnect electrical connection (4) to brake switch. Remove clip (2) from air/hydraulic cylinder (7).2. Disconnect hose (3). Cap or plug immediately.3. Disconnect hose (5). Cap or plug immediately.4. Disconnect hose (1).5. Remove three bolts (6).6. Disconnect hose (8) (not shown).7. Remove air/hydraulic cylinder (7). Start By:a. remove air/hydraulic cylinder The Air/Hydraulic Cylinder Disassemble & Assemble photos show a valve on the cylinder head. The Air/Hydraulic Cylinder on the D400D did not have this valve, it had a hose which was removed during the Remove & Install Story. Put a mark on the adapter, tube and cylinder for correct location at assembly. 1. Use tool (A) to remove adapter (1) from tube (2).2. Remove tube (2) from air/hydraulic cylinder (3) with (A). 3. Remove O-ring seals (4) from the tube. Put a mark on the head and cylinder for correct location at assembly. 4. Remove nuts (5) that hold the head and piston assembly in place. 5. Remove head and piston (6) from the cylinder. 6. Make a small compression of spring (7). Remove snap ring (11) with tooling (A).7. Remove piston (8) and retainer valve (9) from the shaft.8. Remove lip type seal (12) from the piston.9. Remove the head and spring (7) from piston assembly (10). 10. Remove bolts (15), plate (13) and seal assembly (16) from the piston.11. Remove nut (14) and the piston from the shaft. Remove the O-ring seal from the shaft. 12. Make a replacement of leather cup seal (19), backup spring (17) and felt seal (18). 13. Remove switch assembly (22) and indicator rod (21) from head (20).14. Remove the O-ring seal from the indicator rod. 15. Remove lip type seals (23) from the head.Assemble Air/Hydraulic Cylinder
1. Inspect all the seals for wear and damage. Replace if necessary. 2. Put O-ring seal (3) in position on shaft (2). Put the shaft in position in piston (1). 3. Install nut (4). Tighten nut
