Remove trunnion (3) and spacers (1) from the rear axle.

Place trunnion (3) on a suitable work bench. Remove spacers (1) from the trunnion.

Remove dowels (13) that align trunnion (3) with spacers (1) .

Remove bolt (14) from trunnion (3) .

Position trunnion (3) on suitable cribbing. Use a suitable pin punch to remove bearing (15) from the trunnion.

Remove trunnion (6) and spacer (5) from the rear axle.

Place trunnion (6) on a suitable work bench. Remove spacer (5) from the trunnion.

Remove dowels (16) that align trunnion (6) with spacer (5) .

Remove bolt (17) from trunnion (6) .

Place trunnion (6) on suitable cribbing. Use Tooling (D) to remove bearing (18) and O-ring (19) (not shown) from the trunnion.

Reattach the nylon lifting slings and Tooling (C) onto the rear axle in order to place the rear axle on Tooling (E). Use suitable cribbing to support the rear axle on Tooling (E) .
Remove the nylon lifting slings and Tooling (C) from the rear axle.
Drain the differential for the rear axle of oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential Oil - Change".

Use Tool (F) to remove retaining ring (20) that secures input flange (21) to the input shaft of the rear axle. Remove the input flange from the rear axle.

Remove washer (22) and O-ring (23) from the rear axle. Make a note of the positions of the washer and the O-ring to each other for the purpose of installation.

Remove bearing (24) and thrust plate (25) from the front of the rear axle.Note: The bearing and the thrust plate will be destroyed on removal.
