Lower the temperature of collar (3) and bearing sleeve (14) to -75° 5°C (-103° 9°F). Apply 4C-9507 Retaining Compound to the collar and bearing sleeve bores prior to assembly. Install the collar and bearing sleeve in the upper hitch of the rear frame.
Apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the bearing cup bores prior to assembly.
Install cap (12) with three bolts (10) and the washers, equally spaced around the cap.
Lower the temperature of bearing cups (6) and (9) to -75° 5°C (-103° 9°F). Install bearing cup (9) in the bearing housing.
Drive bearing cup (9) down to ensure contact with cap (12) .
Lubricate bearing cones (8) and (11) with SAE 30 oil and install.
Install cooled bearing cup (6) and drive down to ensure light contact pressure on bearing cone (8) .
Install shims (7), cap (4), three bolts (10) and the washers. Tighten three bolts (10) and the washers to a torque of 81 7 N m (60 5 lb ft).
Install the torquing bolt assembly.
Apply a torque wrench to the torquing bolt and read the torque necessary to rotate the bearing cones.
If the torque is within a range of 2.3 to 13.6 N m (20 to 120 lb in), remove caps (4) and (12) and install lip seals (5) and (13). Lubricate the sealing lips with the lubricant being sealed.
Install shims (7), caps (4) and (12) with six bolts (10) and the washers. Tighten six bolts (10) to a torque of 81 7 N m (60 5 lb ft).
If the torque is LESS THAN 2.3 N m (20 lb in) or GREATER THAN 13.6 N m (120 lb in), remove or add shims to obtain the correct rotating torque. The removal of shims will increase the torque and the addition of shims will cause a torque decrease.Reference: Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Machine Systems, "Loader Frame and Rear Frame - Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.Procedure to Install the Upper Hitch Pin
Position cover (2). Install the two bolts that fasten cover (2) to pin (15) .
Align the upper hitch bores. Install pin (15) .
Install four bolts (1). Tighten two diagonally opposite bolts to 122 7 N m (90 5 lb ft).
Tighten the remaining two diagonally opposite bolts to 122 7 N m (90 5 lb ft).
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until all the bolts are
