Power Flow for Transmission Gearbox (Second Speed)The transmission is connected to the power train motor that is located at the front of the transmission. The power train motor transmits power to the transmission. The power train motor also controls the direction of the rotation of the transmission. The power flows from the output shaft of the power train motor. The power train motor is splined directly to input shaft (4) .Reference: Systems Operation, "Piston Motor (Power Train)".Input shaft (4) transfers power directly to the input shaft gear (3). Power then flows into gear case (5). Gear case (5) contains the intermediate gears that transfer power to either first gear (8) or second gear (9). The power will flow to either gear relative to the position of shifting sleeve (12) and shifting rod (11). Shifting rod (11) is actuated by a gearshift piston that is mounted to the side of the transmission gearbox. Transmission speed is monitored with speed sensor (17). Speed sensor (17) is mounted in the transmission housing. Speed sensor (17) signals to the IQAN. The operating speed is based on the gear that is selected.

The machine must be stopped completely in order to shift gears. A function in the IQAN software will ensure that the gearbox is shifted smoothly. If the IQAN does not receive any signal from gearshift switches (14) and (15), the IQAN will begin to send a low signal to the power train pump. This signal will slowly turn the power train pump in one direction. The load on the transmission gearbox will be reduced and neutralized. This operation will slowly turn the shaft of the power train motor in one direction, which will cause the gears to be shifted smoothly to the fully engaged position.

Gearshift HousingIQAN uses signals from the transmission in order to determine the gear position. The gear position is determined from position switch (15) and position switch (14). Position switches (14) and (15) act as two-position switches. The position switches are mounted in gearshift housing (16). The transmission gearbox is capable of shifting from eight wheel drive to four wheel drive. Note: The four wheel drive is an option for roading purposes only. The four wheel drive should only be used with an unloaded machine. Make sure that you shift the transmission gearbox into eight wheel drive prior to entering working mode. The rear output shaft may be disengaged, if necessary. The rear output shaft may be turned on or off while the machine is in motion. However, the rear output shaft cannot be engaged
