Information:
1. Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank.
Make sure all the pressure in the hydraulic system has been released before disconnecting any oil lines.
2. Disconnect the oil lines from the bottom of the hoist cylinder. 3. Fasten chain (2) to the hoist cylinder as shown to support the cylinder when pin (1) is removed.4. Remove the bolts and bar (3) that hold pin (1) in place. 5. Remove pin (1) with tooling (A).
Typical Example6. Install tool (B) on the bucket of a wheel loader or a suitable hoist.7. Put tape on the hoist cylinder rod for protection when the tool (B) is installed. If a nylon strap is used, the tape is not necessary.8. Fasten a chain or nylon strap and tool (B) to hoist cylinder (5). Support the weight of the hoist cylinder with tool (B).9. Remove the bolts and cover (4) from the lower hoist cylinder pin.10. Use tooling (C) to pull the hoist cylinder off of the lower pin, and remove hoist cylinder (5) from the machine. The weight of the hoist cylinder is 1209 kg (2665 lb.). 11. Remove bearings (6) and (8) and retainer (7) from the lower pin.Install Hoist Cylinders
Photos are of a 785 Truck. 1. Put retainer (7) and bearings (6) and (8) in position on the lower pin. Put a radiator hose clamp around the bearings to hold the bearings together when the cylinder is installed.
Typical Example2. Install three 3/4" - 10 NC Threaded Rods (9) 254 mm (10 in.) long in the retainer.3. Install tool (A) on the bucket of a wheel loader.4. Fasten tool (A) to a hoist cylinder (5). Put the hoist cylinder in position on the threaded rods.5. Install washers and nuts on the threaded rods, and push the hoist cylinder over the bearings. Remove the radiator hose clamp from the bearings. 6. Install cover (4) and the three bolts that hold the hoist cylinder in position on the lower pin. 7. Align the end of the hoist cylinder with the pin boss in the truck body, and install pin (1).8. Install bar (3) and the bolts to hold the pin in place.9. Connect the oil lines to the bottom of the hoist cylinder.10. Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. See the Maintenance Guide.Disassemble Hoist Cylinders
Photos are from a 785 Truck. Procedures are the same for a 789 Truck. Start By:a. remove hoist cylinders Make sure all of the oil is removed from the cylinder before it is disassembled. 1. Put the hoist cylinder in position on tooling (A) as shown. 2. Remove bolts (1) and the washers. Use tool (A), and pull cylinder assembly (3) away from head (2). 3. Put two wood blocks (5) 152.4 mm (6.00 in.) long between the cylinder assembly and head (2) as shown. Use tooling (A) to push head (2) off of cylinder (4). 4. Use tooling (A), and pull cylinder assembly (3) part way off of cylinder (4).5. Put support (6) in position under
