Remove Brake Control Valve
The brake system is under pressure. To prevent possible personal injury release the pressure from the brake system by pushing on the brake pedal several times until there is no brake oil pressure. Do this before any service work is done.
1. Open the door assembly over the brake control valve.2. Disconnect tube assembly (1) from the lower manifold on the brake control valve. Tube assembly (1) sends oil to the front brake lines.3. Disconnect tube assembly (2) from the brake control valve. Tube assembly (2) sends oil back to the hydraulic tank.4. Disconnect the wires from switch assembly (3). 5. Disconnect hose assembly (4) from the upper manifold on the brake control valve. Hose assembly (4) sends oil to the near brake lines.6. Disconnect hose assembly (5) from the elbow on the brake accumulator. 7. Disconnect tube assemblies (13) and (14) from the lower manifold on the brake control valve.8. Disconnect tube assembly (11) from the brake control valve that returns oil to the hydraulic tank.9. Remove the cotter pin from pin (7) and remove pin (7) from the stem of the brake control valve.10. Remove bolts (12) [block (8), bracket (9) and switch assembly (10) as a unit] and spacers to remove brake control valve (6) from the machine.Install Brake Control Valve
1. Put brake control valve (1) in position and install the spacers, block (4) [with bracket (2) and switch assembly (3)] and bolts (5) to hold valve (1) in position. 2. Put the stem from the brake control valve in position in rod end (7) and install pin (6) to hold these in position. Install the cotter pin in pin (6).3. If necessary, adjust switch assembly (3) as follows:a) Put the brake control valve in the off position (stem fully out).b) Loosen the nut that holds switch assembly (3) to bracket (2) and move switch (3) until it makes light contact with the ramp surface of rod end (7). Tighten the nut to a torque of 27 7 N m (20 5 lb.ft.).c) Move bracket (2) toward the brake control valve 2.75 mm (.108 in.). This will move (depress) switch assembly (3) into an off position.4. Connect tube assemblies (9) and (10) to the lower manifold on the brake control valve.5. Connect tube assembly (8) to the brake control valve. 6. Connect hose assembly (12) to the elbow on the brake accumulator.7. Connect hose assembly (11) to the upper manifold on the brake control valve. 8. Connect the wires to switch assembly (15).9. Connect tube assembly (14) to the brake control valve.10. Connect tube assembly (13) to the upper manifold on the brake control valve.Disassemble Brake Control Valve
