EUI trucks do not need the engine overspeed control group since this function is handled by the engine electronic control module. An over speed warning lamp is still necessary. During the EUI conversion process, this warning lamp was installed and necessary modifications were made concerning the overspeed system (See SEHS9556 Cab and Chassis EUI Retrofit). When a truck has been converted to an EUI engine, the 405-GY wire circuit (engine oil pressure) is powered by the engine control box through the EUI retro harness assembly. Therefore, only the 450-YL (engine speed) wire of the ARC retro harness needs to be connected to the system. This connection is now made through the EUI retro harness by connecting the two pin (450-YL and 405-GY) sure seal of the ARC retro harness to a two pin (450-YL only) sure seal connector of the EUI retro harness. Refer to SEHS9556 Cab And Chassis Electronic Unit Injector Retrofit. If the EUI conversion process is being made after an ARC retrofit, follow all instructions concerning the EUI conversion. Make sure the final connection of the ARC retro system follows those instructions discussed for EUI trucks in this publication.Section 3 - Cab Rear Modifications
Cab Wiring

The remainder of the ARC retro harness should be channeled under the cab through the tunnel where connections will be made to the ARC fuse, arc control box, service set and service clear switches, data link, code plug along with a breakout to the console area to be connected to the ARC on/off switch. The cover over the tunnel may be removed for easier access. Those necessary connections which will be based upon truck engine configuration and/or truck PIN, will be clearly noted. Install a fuse holder on the rear circuit panel. An existing empty position may be used or a new location may be made. See illustration for fuse holder cut out dimensions. Install 4K5122 Fuse Holder and 3K8782 Fuse and label it as Automatic Retarder fuse.Connect 176-OR and 112-PU wire of 1047117 ARC Retro Harness to the fuse as shown above. Connect 112-PU wire to the main relay.Connect 202-BK wire to the ground boss at the rear of the cab. It is important to connect this wire to the ground boss provided for this purpose.037
Wrap and tie back the 720-PU wire of the ARC retro harness. This wire is not used because the information is supplied through the data link from the EPTC-II transmission control box.037
Wrap and tie back D987-GY and 202-BK wires of the ARC retro harness. These wires are not used as the information is carried over the data link connection made to the EUI retrofit cab harness which serves as a link between the ARC and the EUI electronic throttle sensor located on the throttle pedal.037
These trucks have been supplied with a service tool connector which is part of a panel group located on the console. To make the connection with the EUI and EPTC-II data link, connect the ARC retro data link breakout with an unused (plugged)
