Remove Parking Brake Valve
The brake system is under pressure. To prevent possible personal injury release the pressure from the brake system by pushing on the brake pedal several times until there is no brake oil pressure. Also make sure the machine is on level ground and put blocks in front of and behind the wheels so the machine does not move. Do all this before any service work is done.
1. Open the door assembly over the parking brake valve.2. Disconnect hose assembly (4) with the switch assembly from the parking brake valve that goes to the parking brake.3. Disconnect tube assembly (1) from the parking brake valve that comes from the brake contol valve.4. Remove tube assembly (2) from the parking brake valve that comes from the accumulator charging valve and the brake control valve.5. Disconnect tube assembly (3) from the parking brake valve that drains to the hydraulic tank. 6. Disconnect parking brake control cable (7) from lever assembly (6) and bracket assembly (5). 7. Remove three nuts (8) to remove bracket assembly (5), lever assembly (6) and parking brake valve (9) as a unit from the machine.Install Parking Brake Valve
1. Put bracket assembly (1), lever assembly (2) and parking brake valve (3) in position on the machine. Intall the three nuts to hold these in position. 2. Connect parking brake control cable (4) to lever assembly (2) and bracket assembly (1). Make sure the control cable is in the "PARKING BRAKE ON" position. 3. Install tube assembly (7) on the parking brake valve.4. Connect tube assemblies (5) and (6) to the parking brake valve.5. Connect hose assembly (8) with the switch assembly to the parking brake valve.6. Close the door assembly over the parking brake valve.Disassemble Parking Brake Valve
START BY:a) remove parking brake valve 1. Disconnect lever assembly (3) from the parking brake valve.2. Remove bolts (1) and remove the parking brake valve from bracket assembly (2). 3. Loosen nut (4) to remove eye (5) and nut (4) from the end of valve stem. 4. Remove the bolts and remove cover (6) from the valve body. 5. Remove cover (7) from the valve body. 6. Use tool (A) to remove snap ring (8) from cover (7) and remove seal (9) from cover (7). Remove the seal from the bore of cover (7). 7. Remove valve stem (11) from valve body (10). 8. Remove plug (12) and the seal from valve stem (11). 9. Remove O-ring seals (14) and (15) from both sides of valve body (10).10. If necessary, remove teflon seal (13) and the O-ring seal behind it from both ends of the valve body base.Assemble Parking Brake Valve
1. Install the O-ring seal and teflon seal (1) at both ends of the valve body bore if necessary.2. Install O-ring seals (2) and (3) on both sides of the valve body. 3. Install O-ring seal (4) and plug (5) on the end of the valve stem. 4. Put valve stem (6) in position in the valve body.
