CAESultra Main Harness
The CAESultra main harness connects the GPS receiver and the CDM. The harness also provides connections that enable the data link to connect to the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET). The cable connects to a power source, either directly from the machine or through an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). Illustration 2 shows the CAESultra wiring diagram that is used for the CD1040. Illustration 3 shows the wiring diagram that is used for Navigator displays.

The machine interconnect harness is dependent on the power source for the machine. On an AC powered Cable Shovel, an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is utilized to convert and condition CAESultra power. On a combustion powered machine with batteries, CAESultra connects to the existing machine power. This connection is before the Run relay. The connection provides power to the CAESultra machine harness. A connection after the relay provides the key switch input to start CAESultra. Illustration 4 shows both scenarios.
