Install the Axle Guard
Match the housing to the 148-7854 Guard Plate (9). Remove the bolts in order to install the plate. See Illustration 9.
Install the 148-7854 Guard Plate (9) with the 8T-4174 Bolts (50) and with 7X-0515 Hard Washers (43) on the left side. Install the 148-7854 Guard Plate (9) with the 7Y-5227 Bolt with the 7X-0515 Hard Washer on the right side.
Tighten the bolts on both sides until the 148-7854 Guard Plate (9) is completely flush with the side of the housing.
Tighten the bolts (50) and bolts (45) to a torque of 300 40 N m (220 30 lb ft).
Install the 6V-1889 Clip (36), 8T-4137 Bolt (49), 8T-4121 Washer (47), and the hose to the boss on the plate (9). Orient the clip downward.Install the Warning System

Locate the Cab DRC keyed C connector. See Illustration 12. Remove the plug from an unused terminal on Cab DRC keyed C connector. The available terminals depend on the configuration of the machine.
Remove a plug from an unused terminal on the connector.
Insert the socket of the pink wire of the 172-9218 Harness (59) into the connector.

Connect the ring terminal on the 172-9218 Harness (59) to the ground stud (X) below the platform.
Connect the connector on 172-9218 Harness to receptacle assembly on 3E-7692 Pressure Switch .

View the connectors from the top.
Install 7K-1181 Cable Strap on the connectors of the 172-9218 Harness and the 3E-7692 Pressure Switch to the main harness along the frame rail. Use cable straps (57) in order to secure the 172-9218 Harness to the main harness.
Remove the four bolts in the front dash panel. Pull back the dash panel in order to expose the connector on the right side.

Remove the black wire (201G) from Terminal 4 in the connector. Tape the black wire (201G) to the harness with electrical tape. See Illustration 13.
Insert the socket end of the 172-9216 Wire into Terminal 4 of the harness.
Route the 172-9216 Wire through the slot on the bottom right side of the front dash.Note: The harness for the heater runs through this slot.
Remove two torx screws for the small cover on the right of the control lever.
Route the 172-9216 Wire (58) with the main harness along the right side of the machine. Route the wire down the right side dash panel.
Remove the 6 screws on the right side dash panel. Pull back the dash panel in order to access the connectors on the cab floor.
Remove the plug in the connector. Insert the pin end of the 172-9216 Wire (58) into the hole in the connector that corresponds to the 172-9218 Harness .
Secure the 172-9216 Wire to the main harness with straps (59) .Prepare the Machine
Install guards and the brackets that were previously removed for accessibility.
Fill fluids. Add approximately 29 L (30.6 qt) of oil to the rear axle.
Start the machine.Note: If the
