Block the tractor wheels on each side with Tooling (A).
Release the system pressure.

Use Tooling (B) to lift rear of scraper.

Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to planetary carrier (2). The weight of planetary carrier (2) and gears is approximately 152 kg (335 lb).
Remove bolts (3). Use Tooling (D) to reposition planetary carrier (2). Remove driver (1).
Use Tooling (D) to remove planetary carrier (2).

Attach Tooling (E) to prevent tire movement.

Use Tooling (F) to support ring gear and hub (6). The weight of ring gear and hub (6) is approximately 90 kg (200 lb). Remove bolts (4), retainer (5), and the shim pack. Remove ring gear and hub (6).

Use Tooling (F) to position ring gear and hub (6). The weight of ring gear and hub (6) is approximately 90 kg (200 lb). Install ring gear and hub (6).
Prior to installing the shim pack, the parking brake must be released by applying 2800 kPa (406 psi) hydraulic pressure to the brake port labeled "P".
Install retainer (5) and four bolts (4) at positions 1, 2, 5, and 6 as shown in Illustration 7. Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 122 5 N.m (90 4 lb ft).
Remove Tooling (E).
Rotate the tire assembly two revolutions, then retighten bolts (4) to a torque of 122 5 N.m (90 4 lb ft).
Rotate the tire assembly two revolutions, retighten bolts (4) until bolts (4) do not turn when achieving to a torque of 122 5 N.m (90 4 lb ft).
Loosen bolts (4) and rotate the tire assembly two revolutions. Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 18 1 N.m (159 9 lb in).
Rotate the tire assembly two revolutions, then retighten bolts (4) to a torque of 18 1 N.m (159 9 lb in).
Rotate the tire assembly two revolutions, retighten bolts (4) until bolts (4) do not turn when achieving to a torque of 18 1 N.m (159 9 lb in).
Use Tooling (G) to measure the distance through hole (Z). Measure the distance from end of the spindle the reaction hub face. Add 0.089 0.025 mm (0.0035 0.001 inch) to the distance measured. The sum of this determines the proper number of the shims that has to be used.
Use Tooling (E) to secure the tire assembly to the machine.Note: Use caution during the removal of retainer (5). Ring gear and hub (6) may slide off the spindle during removal of retainer (5).
Remove bolts (4) and retainer (5).
Install the shims, retainer (5), and bolts (4). Tighten bolts (4) in a cross pattern.

Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to planetary carrier (2). The weight of planetary carrier (2) and gears is approximately 152 kg (335 lb). Install planetary carrier (2), driver (1), and bolts (3).
