Disconnect the machine harness from the alarm.
At the machine harness connector for the alarm, place a jumper across the two contacts. Wait several seconds.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.Expected Result:The CID 0271 FMI 05 is no longer active.Results:
YES - The CID 0271 FMI 05 is no longer active. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NO - The CID 0271 FMI 05 is still active. Proceed to Test Step 4.Test Step 2. CHECK THE ALARM
The machine harness remains disconnected from the alarm.
Measure the resistance of the alarm.Expected Result:The resistance is 200 100 ohms.Results:
OK - The resistance is 200 100 ohms. The problem is in the connection between the alarm and machine harness. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NOT OK - The resistance is not 200 100 ohms.Repair: The action alarm has failed. Replace the action alarm.STOPTest Step 3. INSPECT THE ALARM TO HARNESS CONNECTION
Reconnect the harness to the message display and the alarm.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the OFF position.
Check for the proper mating of the connector.
