Start By:a. engage parking brakeb. place transmission in neutralc. remove crankcase guard groupd. remove fender group 1. Place wooden blocks to the trailer tires. 2. Place steering assembly lock (2) on each steering cylinder (1). 3. Remove four bolts (3). Set aside the right hand deck plate (4). The following steps must be performed to fully extend the front suspension cylinders. Full extension of the front suspension is required in the removal of the front axle. 4. Disconnect electrical quick connection (5). Observe all safety precautions and start the engine.5. Use the handle assembly stored in the cab of the truck to RAISE the front suspension. Pull lever assembly (6) UP. Extending the front suspension cylinders can only be completed by performing Steps #4 & 5. 6. Turn the engine OFF. Observe front suspension cylinders (7) to verify that they are fully extended. Disconnect breather line (8) from front axle (9). 7. Use tool (A) to raise both tractor tires (10) off the floor. Place tool (B) to the frame as an additional safety measure. 8. Location of tool (A). 9. Locate tool (C) at rear of front frame. 10. Remove twenty nuts (11) on front lines. 11. Typical removal of tire from vehicle.12. Repeat Step #10 and 11 to remove the second tire from the front axle. 13. Remove four bolts (13). Set aside brake guard (12). 14. Disconnect brake line (14). Plug or cap immediately. Catch brake fluid in a suitable container. 15. Disconnect grease line (17). Remove six bolts (15). Set aside left side cradle bearing cap (16). When remove the cradle bearing cap, four shims (18) will be removed with it. 16. Disconnect grease line (20) from each front suspension cylinder (7). Put straps (19) on grease lines and reposition grease lines. 17. Disconnect grease line (21). Remove nut (23) and reposition the rod assembly (22). 18. Remove four bolts (25) and set aside the lever (26). Remove two bolts (24). Set aside right side cradle bearing cap (27). When removing cradle bearing cap, four shims (28) will be removed with it. 19. Remove four bolts (29) from front driveshaft (31) and front axle differential group (30).
Photographic purposes only Photo shows front differential group (30). 20. Remove bolt (32) from each front suspension cylinder (7). 21. With an overhead hoist, place tool (D) to the front axle. Place tool (E) to the frame assembly of the front axle. 22. Use a suitable lift truck on other end of the front axle. 23. Remove tapered pin (33) from each front suspension cylinder (7). 24. Remove two bolts (35) and frame assembly cap (34).25. Repeat Step #24 for other end of front axle. 26. With overhead hoist, lift truck and tool (D) gradually lower front axle (9) onto tool (F). The front axle is 948 kg (2100 lb). 27. Secure front axle (9) to the lift truck with tool (G).28. Remove front axle (9) from under the tractor and to an appropriate work area. 29.
