To prevent possible personal injury, do not disconnect any hydraulic pressure has been released from the system.
To prevent personal injury when opening the bleed valve, turn it slowly and with caution so the oil can drain without much force.
When draining the rear suspension cylinders the rear frame will lower. To prevent personal injury or death stand clear of the trailer when lowering.
Do not open the hand operated shut-off (flow control) valve which is closed during normal operation. 1. Fasten a drain hose (A) to bleed valve (1).2. Open bleed valve (1) counterclockwise and drain the hydraulic oil to lower the rear suspension cylinder (2).3. Disconnect grease line (3).4. Disconnect two hydraulic lines (4). Put caps or plugs on the lines to keep out dirt or foreign material. 5. Fasten straps and a hoist to the rear suspension cylinder. Remove bolt and pin assemblies (5).6. Position tooling (B) to the rear frame. Raise the rear frame to to proceed with the removal of the suspension cylinder.6. Remove the rear suspension cylinder (2). Weight of the rear suspension cylinder is 39 Kg (85 lbs.). The following steps are for the installation of the rear suspension cylinder.7. Put the rear suspension cylinder (2) in position with bolt and pin assemblies (5).8. Remove the caps or plugs on the hydraulic lines (4) and then connect them to the rear suspension cylinder.9. Connect grease line (3).Disassemble Suspension Cylinders
Start By:a. remove front or rear suspension cylinders 1. Put the cylinder assembly in position on tooling (A).2. Remove clip (2) from the cylinder tube.3. Fasten tool (B) to the end cap, and then remove end cap from the cylinder tube. 4. Pull the cylinder rod from the cylinder tube with tooling (A).5. Remove seal (4) and wear ring (3). 6. Install tool (C) on the piston (5) making sure the tangs (6) in tool (C) are in alignment with the holes in piston (5).7. Remove the piston (5) with tool (C).8. Remove end cap assembly (8) from the cylinder rod assembly. Remove and inspect O-ring seal and back-up ring (7). 9. Remove and inspect seals (11), (10) and wear ring (9) from the end cap assembly.10. Remove and inspect seal (12) and wear ring (13) from the piston assembly.Assemble Suspension Cylinders
1. Install a new wear ring (13) and seal (12) on the piston assembly if necessary.2. Install a new wear ring ((9), seals (10) and (11) in the end cap assembly. 3. Install a new back-up ring and O-ring seal (7) on end cap assembly (8).4. Install end cap assembly (8) on the cylinder rod assembly.5. Install piston (5) on the cylinder rod assembly along with tool (C). De-grease and apply 9S3263 Threadlock to the first two threads of the cylinder rod before installing the piston.6. Tighten piston (5) with tool (C) to a torque of 410 N m (300 lb.ft.). 7. Install a new wear ring (3) and seal (4) on piston (5) if necessary. 8. Pull cylinder tube and cylinder rod assembly with
