Remove plug (4) and drain the oil from the bearing compartment into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the compartment is 2 L (0.5 US gal).
Remove two cover bolts (5) .

Install Tooling (B). Remove remaining cover bolts (5) .

Install Tooling (C). Unseat cover (6) .

Install Tooling (D) to the back side of cover (6) .
Install a suitable lifting device to Tooling (D), as shown. Remove the cover and the O-ring seal. The weight of cover (6) is approximately 60 kg (130 lb).

Install two cover bolts (5) into ring (8) as forcing bolts. Unseat the ring. Remove bolts (5). Install Tooling (E) and completely unseat ring (7). Remove O-ring seal (7) .

Install Tooling (D) to ring (8) .
Install a suitable lifting device to Tooling (D), as shown. Remove ring (8). The weight of ring (8) is approximately 55 kg (120 lb).

Remove backup ring (9) .
Remove Tooling (B) .

Fasten a suitable lifting device to Tooling (E), as shown. The weight of Tooling (E) is approximately 64 kg (140 lb).

Install Tooling (E), install Tooling (D), and one cover bolt (5) to the bearing end of the final drive.

Remove the top three mounting bolts (10) for the final drive.

Install Tooling (F) to final drive.
Prepare a suitable lifting device with one leg of 3.00 m (10.0 ft) and another leg of 2.75 m (9.0 ft). Fasten a suitable lifting device and the 2.75 m (9.0 ft) leg of the lifting device to Tooling (F). Fasten Tooling (G) to the end of Tooling (E) and the lifting device. The weight of the final drive and Tooling is approximately 4040 kg (8900 lb).
Remove remaining 43 mounting bolts (10) for the final drive.

Slide final drive out of the track roller frame until Tooling (D) is accessible. Shorten the length of Tooling (G) until the 3.00 m (10.0 ft) leg of the lifting device can be attached to Tooling (D). Remove Tooling (G) .

Complete the removal of the final drive.

Install a suitable lifting device to sprocket (11). The weight of sprocket (11) is approximately 1860 kg (4100 lb). Remove sprocket (11) .
