Line Relief Valve Adjustment for theBoom & Stick Cylinders
Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 & Group4
Stick Cylinder Extended 20100 1000 kPa (2915 145 psi) Make sure that the line relief is setat the correct specification. Hydraulic hoses or welded structures mayfail if the setting is greater than the specification. Check your record to determine if theline relief settings have been checked and readjusted to the above specifications. If so, submit a SIMS ticket to report completion of the letter. No furtheraction is required.Slow Return Valves(Group 1 and Group2 Only)
There is a slow return valve in the hydraulicsystem for the boom cylinder retract. There is a slow return valve in thehydraulic system for the stick cylinder extend. These two valves adjustthe travel speed of the boom and stick.
Check valve (S) adjusts the hydraulic system forthe stick cylinder extend.
Check valve (T), adjusts the hydraulic systemfor the boom cylinder retract.
(V) 70mm Spanner Wrench(X) 50mm Spanner Wrench
In order to adjust the check valve, position spannerwrench (V) at location (U) on the check valve. Position spanner wrench(X) at location (W) on the check valve.
The following adjustment procedurerequires a tape measure and a stopwatch. Position the machine on flat ground. The temperature of the hydraulic oil should be 55° 5°C(131° 9°F). Move the engine speed dial to the 10 position. Boom Cylinder Extended To - (Y) 2.0 m (6.5ft)
Raise the boom to the maximum height.
Measure the amount of time for the movement fromthe boom cylinder extended to a height that is 2.0 m (6.5 ft) from theground. Refer to Table 2 to dertermine the correct time for your machine.
