Illustration 6Apply a continuous bead of caulk to the inside perimeter of the accesspanel, as shown in Illustration 7.

Align the 4 holes in the access panel, with the4 boltholes on the back of the cab.
Insert and tighten the 4 bolts to a torque of28 Nm.
Groups 1 & 2Window Installation Procedure: All new seal material is to be attachedto the framework of the cab, not on the Lexan window material.
Clean the metal surface on all window backings,using rubbing alcohol.
The new 284-3953 Seal should be installed alongthe edge of the window. The window seal should meet at the corner of thewindows, as shown in Illustration 8 (bottom corners) andIllustration 9 (top corners).

Inspect all rear window backings (Group 1 only)for voids or pinholes and apply silicone caulk where necessary.
Apply silicone caulk to the top of all windowbackings, as shown by the examples in Illustration 11.
Install the window into the cab.
Install the bottom window retainer snug to helpkeep the window in place while performing the following caulking procedures.
Apply a bead of caulk to the top of all windowsand four inches down the side of all windows, as shown in Illustration10.
Install the remaining window retainers using theoriginal bolts and washers and tighten all retainers to 28 Nm.
Perform window seal removaland installation procedure for all cab windows in Group 1 and 1-5 in Group2 except for the door windows which are (P/N: 237-9386) and (P/N: 237-9387).

Replace the door seal ONLYif the upper corners of the seal look like Illustration 15Removal Procedure:
Completely remove the door seal from the insideface of the door, using the recommended eraser tool (P/N: 226-0125).
Remove the two door windows from the cab.
Completely remove the seal from both windows.
Installation Procedure:
Start installing the 178-8894 Seal at the bottomcenter of the door and continue working clockwise around the door.
The door seal should be applied to the bottomcorners of the door, the same way the old seal was installed, by providinga seal layout of 90 degrees, as shown in Illustration 13.
When approaching the upper corners of the door,the seal will need to be applied so that the inside radius is approx. 2.5inches, as shown in Illustration 14. The radius of the door seal at theupper corners must be consistent.
Continue to apply the new seal to the rest ofthe door.
Apply silicone caulk to the top of all door backingplates, as shown in Illustration 12. Pay particular attention to the areabetween skip welds.
Install the 6V-8109 Seal to the door backingsand not on the window itself, as shown in Illustration 16. Please referencethe Window Installation Procedure on page 5 for installation instructions.

Rework Procedure for Caulking the Top Peakand Corners of the Door Seal:
Apply a three-inch bead of caulk to the upperleft and right corners and to the upper peak of the door seal to compensatefor any irregularities at weld joints, as shown in Illustration 17. Thecaulk should be applied to the seam where the door seal and the doorframemeet.
