(4) S O S tap Hydraulic charge filter (1) is located under the operator platform, on the right side of the machine. Pressure switch (2) is installed in the base of the charge filter.Return oil from the steering hydraulic system and from the fan hydraulic system flows through charge filter (1). This oil is directed to the vibratory system pump and the propel pump. The housing of charge filter (1) contains a bypass valve. If the pressure differential across the filter is greater than 520 kPa (75 psi), the bypass valve opens. When the bypass valve is open, charge oil flows around the filter and into the hydrostatic pumps.Pressure switch (2), pressure tap (3), and S O S tap (4) are also installed in the base of charge filter (1). The pressure switch provides input to the warning and monitoring system. Charge pressure can be measured at the pressure tap. A live oil sample can be obtained from the S O S tap.
