The axle and the drum on the machines are hydrostatically driven. A tandem hydraulic pump provides flow to the propel system. The pump contains two rotating groups. One rotating group provides the flow that drives the axle, and the other rotating group provides the flow that drives the drum. Each rotating group has a barrel and piston assembly. A swashplate controls the output from each rotating group. The drum drive system also contains a two speed piston type motor and a planetary gear reducer with an integral spring applied, hydraulically released brake. The axle drive also contains a two speed piston type motor and an axle with a limited slip differential and a planetary gear reducer for each wheel. The axle can be equipped with an optional spring applied, hydraulically released brake for each wheel. The steering pump supplies charge oil to the propel system.
