Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface on loose, uncompacted soil.Note: If loose, uncompacted soil is unavailable, drive the machine onto an unusable tire without rims. The tires should have a carcass of substantial stiffness in order to support the drum. If tires are used, the drum should be a minimum of 102 mm (4 inch) above the ground.

Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

Move throttle control switch (3) to the LOW IDLE position.

Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.

Assemble Tool (A). Assemble Tool ( B). Attach Tool (A) to Tool (B), as shown.

Disconnect case drain line (5) from vibratory motor fitting (6) .
Connect case drain line (5) to the outlet port of flow meter of Tool (A). Connect inlet hose from Tool (A) to vibratory motor fitting (6) .
Move engine start switch (4) to the START position. Release the switch when the engine starts.
Operate the engine at low idle for a few minutes. Move throttle switch (3) to the HIGH IDLE position.
Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature with Tool (C). Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 43 6 °C (110 10 °F).
Read flow on Tool (A). The flow should be less than 3.8 L/min (1.0 US gpm).

Move amplitude selector switch (7) to the LOW AMPLITUDE position.

Depress vibratory switch (8) on top of propel lever in order to start the vibratory system.
Read the flow on the flow meter. The flow should be between 4.5 to 8.0 L/min (1.2 to 2.1 US gpm).
Depress vibratory switch (8) on top of propel lever in order to stop the vibratory system.
Move amplitude selector switch (7) to the HIGH AMPLITUDE position.
Depress vibratory switch (8) on top of propel lever in order to start the vibratory system.
Read the flow on the flow meter. The flow should be between 4.5 to 8.0 L/min (1.2 to 2.1 US gpm).
Depress vibratory switch (8) on top of propel lever in order to stop the vibratory system.
Move throttle switch (3) to the LOW IDLE position.
Move engine start switch (4) to the OFF position.
Remove Tool (A) from the vibratory motor and reconnect case drain line (5) .
