The pump and motor maximum displacement test allows the technician to send the maximum current to the pump forward solenoids and no current to the motor solenoids when the joystick is in the forward position, and maximum current to the pump reverse solenoids and no current to the motor solenoids when the joystick is in the reverse position. This is useful when the technician checks the function of the hydrostatic components.The machine must be off the ground in order to perform this test procedure.
The tracks will move during the procedure. Keep all personnel away from the machine during the procedure. Severe injury or death could result if someone was caught in the moving tracks.
Note: In order to place the machine on stands, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Service Brake Pedal - Test".

Use the ET in order to perform the pump and motor maximum displacement test. Select Diagnostics from the main menu. Then, select "Diagnostic Tests" from the drop-down menu. Select the "Pump and Motor Maximum Displacement Test" from the selection menu. Follow the instructions that are provided.
Enter the machine.
Fasten the seat belt.
Start the engine and run the engine at low idle.
Depress the service brake.
Release the parking brake.Note: The ECM must detect the following conditions before starting the test procedure
The joystick must be in the neutral position.
The engine must be running.
There are No Active Diagnostics.
The parking brake switch must be released.If any of these conditions are not met during the procedure, the procedure is aborted immediately.Test Procedure
Note: Ensure all safety measures have been followed before beginning the following test procedure.
Release the service brake.
Increase the engine speed to HIGH IDLE (approximately 2000 rpm).
Note the engine speed and record the engine speed onto the worksheets. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Worksheet - Troubleshoot".
Raise the blade off of the ground.
Move the speed and direction control to the FORWARD position.
Check the engine speed, the right motor speed, and the left motor speed. Record the speeds onto the worksheets. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Worksheet - Troubleshoot".Note: For the D3G machine, the motor speeds should be equal to 0.700 times the engine speed. For the D4G and D5G machines, the motor speeds should be equal to 0.523 times the engine speed.
Return the speed and direction control to the NEUTRAL position.
Decrease the engine speed to low idle.
Stop the engine.
Move all of the controls in order to relieve any pressure within the hydraulic system.
Exit the machine.Note: If the motor speeds are not in the specified ranges, contact STTT product support for further instructions.
