Start By:a. remove drum 1. Drain the oil from the drum support housing into a suitable container. The capacity of the drum support housing is 2 liters (0.5 U. S. gal). Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, Form No. KEBU7507, for the correct procedure.2. Attach lifting strap, Tool (A) and hoist to bracket (1).3. Remove eight bolts (2), and remove two brackets (1), and plate (3) from the drum support housing. The weight of the two brackets and plate as an assembly is 117 kg (260 lb). When installing, apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock on the threads of eight bolts (3). 4. Attach a lifting strap and hoist to bracket (1) as shown. Remove four bolts (4), and two brackets (1). The weight of each bracket is 41 kg (90 lb).5. Remove the bolt from each of four mounts (5), and remove the mounts from plate (3). 6. Attach Tooling (B) to drum support housing (6).7. Remove eight bolts (7), and drum support housing (6). The weight of the drum support housing is 41 kg (90 lb). For installation of the drum support housing, reverse the removal steps. After the drum support housing has been installed, fill the housing with oil to the correct level. Start By:a. remove drum support housing 1. Make sure the outside of the drum support housing is clean and free of dirt and debris.2. Put alignment marks on the housing and cover to aid in reassembly steps.3. Install the drum support housing on a suitable stand or move to a clean flat area for disassembly. The weight of the drum support housing is 41 kg (90 lb).4. For the drum support housing removed from the right side (vibratory side) of the drum assembly, remove spacer (1) and O-ring seal (5). Check the O-ring seal for wear or damage and replace if necessary.5. For the drum support housing removed from the left side of the drum assembly, remove the four bolts, cover and O-ring seal. Check O-ring seal for wear or damage and replace if necessary.6. Remove three plugs (6) and magnetic plug (7).7. Bend lock nut (2) away from spindle (12).8. Use tool (A) to remove lock nut (2). During assembly, 4C-9507 Retaining Compound was used on lock nut (2). To remove the lock nut, it may be necessary to slightly heat lock nut (2).9. Remove washer (3).10. Position the drum support housing in a press and, using Tool (B), press bearing (8), lip-type seal (13) and spindle (12) from housing (9).11. Remove housing (9) from bearing (8) and spindle (12).12. Remove seal (11) from housing (9).13. Remove bearing (4) from housing (9).14. Remove bearing races (10) from housing (9).15. Remove remove bearing (8) and lip-type seal (13) from spindle (12).
