Removal Procedure
Do not use power tools to Disassemble or Assemble any part of the flexible exhaust system. The bellows must be supported at all times when the bellows are not installed in the application. Failure to support the bellows adequately could result in the failure of the bellows.
If necessary, remove flexible exhaust pipe assembly (1). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flexible Exhaust Pipe - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

If the flexible exhaust pipe assembly will remain in position, bellows (2) must be supported. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flexible Exhaust Pipe - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Loosen bolt (4) on ball clamp (3).
Support exhaust elbow (7)
Loosen cap screw (5) on V-band clamp (8). Note: If the V-band clamp remains tight on the flanges, apply releasing fluid on the V-band clamp in order to assist removal. Lightly tap the bolts on the V-band clamp with a soft faced hammer in order to assist removal. Do not use a prybar to remove the V-band clamp.
Remove V-band clamp (8).
Make temporary marks on the exhaust back pressure valve (6) and exhaust elbow (7) to aid realignment.
Remove the exhaust elbow. Note: Ensure that the flexible exhaust pipe is not subjected to any undue stress.
Remove ball clamp (3).
Remove V-band clamp (8). Installation Procedure
Ensure that all components are clean and free from wear and damage. If necessary, replace any components that are worn or damaged.
If necessary, install flexible exhaust pipe assembly (1). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flexible Exhaust Pipe - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Position V-band clamp (8) onto the exhaust elbow.
Position ball clamp (3) onto exhaust elbow.

Align the temporary marks and install the exhaust elbow (7) to back pressure valve (6). If equipped, ensure that alignment dowel (9) is engaged in the alignment hole in Position (A) on the exhaust back pressure valve before the V-band clamp is installed. Note: Ensure that the flexible exhaust pipe is not subjected to any undue stress.
Position V-band clamp (8) onto back pressure valve (6). Hand tighten cap screw (5).
Position ball clamp (3) onto bellows. Hand tighten bolt (4).
Ensure that all components are correctly aligned prior to torquing.
Tighten bolt (5) to a torque of 12 N m (106 lb in)
Tighten bolt (4) to a torque of 12 N m (106 lb in)
Remove the support for bellows (2). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flexible Exhaust Pipe - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
