Use this procedure when the intent is to run the machine with the compression brake in the ON state at all times. After this procedure is complete, the operator will not be able to turn OFF the compression brake and there will be no visual indication that the compression brake is ON.

16M Compression Brake Switch Connections
Disconnect harness connector P-C146 and remove the compression brake switch from the mount.

16M Compression Brake Always on Connections
At the harness connector P-C146, remove wire E716-BU from connector position 3. Remove wire A202-BK from connector position 2.
Use a wire splice or another method to connect wires E716-BU and A202-BK together. Use electrical tape, shrink tubing, or another method to properly insulate the connected wires.
Refer to Illustration 2 for final compression brake "always ON" connections.

Use this procedure when the intent is to run the machine with the compression brake in the ON state at all times. After this procedure is complete, the operator will not be able to turn OFF the compression brake and there will be no visual indication that the compression brake is ON.
Disconnect harness connector from the 368-4532 Rocker Switch . Remove the compression brake switch from the mount.
Place a 228-6089 Plug in the mounting hole for the switch.Procedure to Modify the 16M Compression Brake to a Momentary Switch (S/N: B9H00001-UP, R9H00001-00829)
Use this procedure when the intent is to run the machine with a momentary compression brake switch. After this procedure is complete, the compression brake will always default to ON at engine start. The operator will be able to use the momentary switch to turn OFF the compression brake until the engine is turned OFF.
