Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
The machine must be level. The equipment must be lowered. The engine must be stopped. 1. Open the hydraulic tank fill cap access door. Remove the cap slowly to relieve pressure. 2. Open the left rear access door. Remove the filter housing bleed screw (1) and drain plug (2). Allow the oil to drain. 3. Remove the filter cover bolts. Install 3 bolts in the puller holes. Turn the bolts in evenly until the cover is loosened. 4. Remove the cover, the 3 filter elements and the screen.5. Clean the inside of the filter housing.6. Wash the screen and cover in clean, non-flammable solvent. Allow them to dry. 7. Insert the screen and 3 new elements into the housing. 8. Inspect the cover seal. Use a new seal if the used one is damaged.9. Coat the seal with clean hydraulic fluid.10. Install the cover carefully to avoid seal damage. Tighten the bolts evenly. 11. Clean and install the drain and bleed plugs.Pilot System Oil Filter:
1. Open both right side access doors. Turn the hex head on the filter cover counterclockwise. 2. Remove the cover and the filter element.3. Clean the inside of the housing. Wash the cover in clean, non-flammable solvent. Allow it to dry.4. Install a new filter element in the housing.5. Inspect the cover seal. Use a new seal if the used one is damaged. 6. Install the cover and tighten it to 60 5 lb. ft. (82 7 N m).Pump Case Drain Filter
1. Remove the filter housing drain plug. Allow the filter to drain. 2. Loosen the bolt at the bottom of the housing. Remove the housing, the mounting bolt and the element. 3. Clean the inside of the housing. 4. Clean the filter base. Replace the seal if it is damaged. 5. Install a new element and the housing. Tighten the housing mounting bolt to 38 2 lb. ft. (50 3 N m). Clean and install the drain plug. 6. Inspect the fill cap gasket. Replace it if it is damaged. Install the cap.7. Start the engine and operate it at low idle to fill the housings. Operate all hydraulic controls through a complete cycle.8. Inspect for leaks.9. With the machine level, position the equipment as follows: BACKHOE-The bucket must be flat on the ground with the stick cylinder fully extended. FRONT SHOVEL-The bucket must be flat on the ground with the stick cylinder fully extended. 10. Stop the engine. Maintain the hydraulic oil level to the FULL mark on the sight gauge. Close and secure all access doors.(18)Engine Crankcase Breather
1. With the engine stopped, open the rear center access door. 2. Loosen the outlet hose clamp. Disconnect the hose from the breather. Loosen the bolt on top of the breather. Remove the breather. 3. Inspect the seal. Use a new seal if it is damaged.4. Wash the breather in clean, non-flammable solvent. Shake it to
