Information:

Open the radiator guard on the rear of the machine.Compressed air, high pressure water or steam can be used to remove dust, leaves and general debris from a radiator. Clean as required by condition of radiator.The use of compressed air is preferred.Refer to Know Your Cooling System, Form SEBD0518, for the complete procedure and instructions.Fuses and Circuit Breaker
Replace Fuses
If it is necessary to replace fuses frequently, a electrical problem may exist. Contact your Caterpillar dealer.
The fuse panel is located inside the operator's compartment on the right side of the dash. Fuses - They protect the electrical system from damage caused by overloaded circuits. Change a fuse if the element separates. If the element of a new fuse separates, have the circuit checked and repaired.
Always replace fuses with ones of the correct ampere rating to avoid electrical system damage.
Kickouts (1) - 10 amps.Horns (2) - 10 amps.Cigar Lighter (3) - 10 amps.Back-up Alarm (4) - 10 amps.Torque Converter/Hour Meter/Steering (5) - 10 amps.Windshield Wipers and Washers (6) - 10 amps. Circuit Breaker Reset - Push the button in to reset the circuit breaker. If working properly, the button will stay depressed. If the button does not stay in, or comes out shortly after being reset, have appropriate electrical circuit checked. Blower Motor Circuit Breaker - Circuit Breaker is located under the fuse panel on the right side of the cab. Circuit Breakers - The circuit breaker panel is located on the right side of the machine in the engine compartment. Circuit Breaker Reset - Push the button in to reset the circuit breaker. If working properly, the button will stay depressed. If the button does not stay in, or comes out shortly after being reset, have appropriate electrical circuit checked.Key (1) - 10 amps.Shutdown (2) - 15 amps.Alternator (3) - 80 amps.Main (4) - 80 amps.Windshield Wipers and Washer
Inspect/Replace
Inspect the condition of the windshield wiper blades. Replace if worn or damaged, or if streaking occurs.Fill Washer Bottle
When operating in freezing temperatures, use Caterpillar nonfreezing window washer solvent. Any commercially available nonfreezing window washer solvent can also be used.
The windshield washer fluid bottle is located on the right side of the operator's compartment. The bottle can be filled through the filler neck located on the right outside of the operator's compartment.Suspension Seat (if equipped)
Lubricate Fittings
Lubricate nine fittings if unusual noise occurs when positioning the seat.Steering and Implement Pump
Clean Screen After Hydraulic Pump was Replaced
Clean the screen anytime there is a hydraulic pump failure or pump change. Contact your Caterpillar dealer for complete instructions on cleaning the hydraulic system after a component failure.
