Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.
Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the oil that is being sealed.

Position slack adjuster (1) on the rear axle housing for installation. Use two bolts (7) and washers in order to install slack adjuster (1) onto the rear axle housing.
If necessary, install elbows (5), (6), and (8) onto slack adjuster (1).
Install the O-ring seals onto elbows (5), (6), and (8).

Connect tube assemblies (2) and (3). Connect hose assembly (4).
Refill the hydraulic tank with hydraulic oil to the correct level. The capacity of the hydraulic system is 420 L (111 US gal). Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7173, "Hoist, Torque Converter and Brake Oil Tank - Change" for the correct procedure.
Personal injury or death can result from air in the oil for the brake hydraulic system.Air in the system can prevent complete brake application and it is possible that the wheels on the machine can not be stopped.Air must not be in the oil for the brake hydraulic system to function properly.
Purge the air from the hydraulic oil in the brake hydraulic system. Refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, SENR1494, "Brake System Air - Purge" for the correct procedure. End By:
Disconnect the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install".
Remove the wheel chocks. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wheel Chock (Front and Rear) - Remove and Install".
