The existing 225-5439 Special Bolt must be used with the existing connecting rod (1) .Note: The connecting rods (1) and (2) must not be used in the same engine.New Procedure for Tightening the Fasteners for the Connecting Rod
The existing fasteners for the connecting rod have a torque of 70 N m (52 lb ft). The new 10 mm fasteners have an initial torque of 40 N m (30 lb ft). The new 10 mm fasteners must be tightened through an angle of 120 degrees. The fasteners must be used once.
