22 6V-7688 Locknut Installation Procedure
Park the machine on a smooth, level surface. Engage the parking brake.
Lower the grapple to the ground. Stop the engine. Secure the boom and stick so the components are not able to move.

Locate nuts (1) on the heel of the machine.
Individually remove each former nut and install a 6V-7688 Locknut in place of the former nut. Tighten the new 6V-7688 Locknut before removing the next former nut. Tighten the 6V-7688 Locknut to a torque of 530 70 N m (390 50 lb ft).
Continue to replace each individual nut until all of the former nuts have been replaced.
