Chart B identifies the ratings for 3408 and 3412 Marine Engines. The additional 3412 rating of 1250 HP at 2300 rpm is supported by Map 4 of the "E" rating personality module.
Caterpillar requires that any 3412 Marine Engines converted to the new "E" personality module to use the 1250 HP rating also install the new cover assemblies for the temperature regulators identified in Chart C. Chart C also identifies the gaskets and plugs required to replace the former cover assemblies with the new cover assemblies. The cover assemblies identified in the chart will also fit 3408B 8RG1-UP and 3412 3JK1-UP regardless of horsepower rating.
