Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Components of the hydraulic oil tank for the implement and hydraulic fan system are located beneath the platform on the right-hand side of the cab.
(1) Retaining bolts and washers
(2) Access panel
(3) Retaining nuts and washers
(4) Hydraulic tank oil filter assembly
(5) Access door
(6) Breaker relief valve
Open access door (5) in the platform on the right-hand side of the cab.
Push the button on the top of the breaker relief valve (6) in order to relieve any tank pressure.
Remove four bolts and washers (1) that retain access panel (2) in the platform above the hydraulic filter assembly. Remove the access panel.
Clean the cover to hydraulic tank oil filter assembly (4) and the surrounding surface area.
Remove four nuts and washers (3) that secure the cover to the hydraulic oil tank. Lift on the handle of the cover to remove the hydraulic tank oil filter assembly from the hydraulic oil tank.

Remove retaining locknut (7) and filter retainer assembly (8) from filter rod (12).
Remove used filter elements (9) from the filter rod. Dispose of the used filter elements properly.
Wash the retaining locknut, filter retainer assembly, filter cover assembly, and the filter rod in a clean, nonflammable solvent.
Inspect cover seal (11) and filter retainer assembly seal (13) for damage. Replace the seals, if necessary.
Install new filter elements, the filter retainer assembly, and the retaining locknut on the filter rod. Reinstall the hydraulic tank oil filter assembly into the hydraulic oil tank.
Secure the cover assembly with the retaining nuts and washers.
Start the engine. Run the engine at low idle and check for leaks in the hydraulic system.
Stop the engine.
Check the hydraulic oil level. Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil (Implement) (Hydraulic Fan) - Check" for the correct procedure.
Close access door (5) in the platform.
Install access panel (2) in the platform and secure with retaining bolts and washers (1).
