Right Side of Engine (1) Oil cooler (2) Return line for oil cooler (3) Line from torque converter to the oil cooler (4) Oil cooler outlet to the flywheelThe transmission oil cooler is located on the right side of the engine.Coolant from the engine cooling system flows into one end of the oil cooler. The coolant flows through the tubes that are inside the oil cooler. After the coolant flows through the tubes, the coolant flows out of the oil cooler to the engine cooling system.Hot hydraulic oil flows from the torque converter through line (3) to oil cooler (1). The oil then flows around the tubes of the engine cooling system in the oil cooler. The oil will also flow along the tubes of the engine cooling system in the oil cooler. Baffles inside the cooler route the oil through the oil cooler. The baffles inside the cooler also support the tubes. Heat is removed from the oil and absorbed by the engine coolant. The hotter engine coolant now flows out of the oil cooler (1). The engine coolant becomes cool by the use of the engine cooling system.

The cooled oil flows through the oil cooler outlet. Most of the cooled oil flows through line (2) for the transmission lubrication. The rest of the cooled oil will flow through line (4) in order to lubricate the flywheel.
