Specifications for the Fuel Injection Pump
Note: Parts that are inside of the fuel injection pump are only serviceable by an authorized Bosch dealer. Consult your parts book for the availability of external pump parts not related to the fuel pump settings and for the possibility of remanufacturing options.
Callout Quantity Part Specification Description
Note: Before the fuel pump is removed from the engine, the fuel pump shaft must be locked. The locking screw will prevent the shaft from rotating. Position the engine to TC compression stroke before tightening the locking screw. If the pump was removed prior to properly locking the shaft, the fuel pump will need to be timed by trained personnel.
- 1 Locking the shaft Remove spacer (3) before locking screw (2) is tightened to the following torque: 31 N m (23 lb ft)
- 1 Unlocking the shaft Loosen the bolt and place spacer (3) behind locking screw (2). Tighten the bolt to the following torque: 12 N m (9 lb ft)
4 1 Tighten the bolt for the support bracket. Torque to 44 N m (32 lb ft)
- - Tighten the bolts that hold the fuel pump to the front housing Torque to 25 N m (18 lb ft)
