Remove the counterweight frame. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Counterweight Frame - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
Remove the cable for the hook winch. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hook Winch Cable - Remove and Install".
Remove the cable for the boom winch. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Boom Winch Cable - Remove and Install".
Remove the boom. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7160, "Boom - Remove and Install".

Attach a strap to Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the right hand side of pipelayer frame (1) .

Remove bolts (2), the washers and cover (3). Use two people to remove cover (3) .

Remove bolts (4) and the washers from the bottom of winch frame (5) .

Remove bolts (6) and the washers from the top of the winch frame. Lower pipelayer frame (1) on Tooling (B) .

Use three straps and a suitable lifting device to support pipelayer frame (1) .

Remove two bolts (8), the washers, and spacer (7). Remove pin (9) and pipelayer frame (1). The weight of the right hand pipelayer frame is approximately 339 kg (747 lb).

Install two straps and a suitable lifting device to the left hand side of pipelayer frame (10) .

Remove bolts (11) and the washers from the left hand pipelayer frame (10) .

Remove two bolts (12), two washers, spacer (13), and pin (14) from the bottom of the pipelayer frame.
Remove pipelayer frame (10) on the left hand side of the machine. The weight of the pipelayer frame is approximately 273 kg (602 lb).
