There are a small number of Motor Graders that have issues with timing for FORWARD to REVERSE shifts. The problem can occur when the operator shifts from FORWARD to REVERSE or when the operator shifts from REVERSE to FORWARD. The vehicle will momentarily remain in the previously selected direction if the vehicle is affected.Solution
It is important to make sure that the calibration for the transmission clutches has been preformed recently. It is important to make sure that the correct oil viscosity and oil grade is used. The correct information for the transmission oil can be found in the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your machine. Most instances of the problem occur when the operator uses partial travel of the inching pedal. Use FULL inching pedal or NO inching pedal when shifting until this problem is resolved.
