ACTION REQUIRED
Replace the cracked boom with a new 511-9168 Boom Assembly.
Image1 shows an actual crack example where the existing mass boom can crack near the front baffle plate area on the bottom plate and side plates.
Image2 shows the portion of the crack that this Service Letter program covers.

For serial number prefixes JTN and HHK machines - Refer to RENR8648, Disassembly and Assembly, "Boom - Remove" and "Boom - Install", for additional information.
When claiming to this Service Letter, please gouge into the center pivot castings of both sides on cracked boom, take photos of the following and attach the photos to the SIMSi claim:
1. Gouged pivot portion
2. Cracked portion near the front baffle plate area
3. Failed boom serial number tag
