crankshaft drives a group of gears on the front and rear of the engine. The gear group on the front of the engine drives the scavenge oil pump, the oil pump, and the water pump. The front gear group also powers one accessory drive for the governor and the alternator. The rear gear group drives the camshafts and three accessory drives in order to power the implement pump, the fan drive pump, and the transmission pump. The air conditioner compressor is driven by a V-belt from the transmission pump.Lip seals and wear sleeves are used at both ends of the crankshaft for easy replacement and a reduction of maintenance cost. Pressure oil is supplied to all main bearings through drilled holes in the webs of the cylinder block. The oil then flows through drilled holes in the crankshaft in order to provide oil to the connecting rod bearings. The crankshaft is held in place by nine main bearings 3516, seven main bearings 3512, or five main bearings 3508. A thrust plate at either side of the center main bearing controls the end play of the crankshaft.
