Line Relief Valve (1) Cap (2) Spring clamp (3) Stem (4) Lock screw (5) Spring (6) Disc (7) Line relief valve (Swing right) (8) Line relief valve (Swing left) (9) Pressure tap (10) High-pressure cutoff valve
Connect tooling (B2) 41,368 kPa (6,000 psi) pressure sensor to pressure tap (9) .
Place the swing lock pin in the LOCK position.
Loosen the locknut of high-pressure cutoff valve (10) and turn the setscrew by one turn clockwise.
Tighten the locknut.
Clear all personnel from the machine and from the area around the machine.
Start the engine.
Set the engine speed dial at "10".
Lower the left console.

Push down on the power mode control button in order to activate power mode.Note: The indicator light will be illuminated when power mode is activated.

Automatic Engine Speed Control (AESC) as displayed on the programmable function key in the monitor.
Disable the automatic engine speed control through the monitor by pressing the programmable button.

Joystick (front switch)
Disable the hydraulic modulation control, if equipped. Press the front switch on the right joystick in order to deactivate hydraulic modulation.
The air conditioning should be turned off for the following test.Test Procedure
Slowly move the joystick to the full SWING LEFT position and the full SWING RIGHT position.
Check the pressure reading on the gauge at pressure tap (9). The pressure should be equal to the line relief valve pressure setting. Note: Refer to Table 2 in this manual for the correct pressure.
If line relief valve (7) or (8) is not set to the proper specification, perform the following "Adjustment Procedure".Adjustment Procedure
Stop the engine.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system.Note: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release".
Raise the left console.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Remove cap (1) and the spring from the line relief valve that needs adjusted. Line relief valve (7) is for the SWING LEFT position and line relief valve (8) is for the SWING RIGHT position.
Remove the assembled valve from the pump.
Loosen lock screw (4) inside the spring clamp (2).
Hold spring clamp (2) and turn stem (3) clockwise in
