Put SAE 90W oil on each end of bushing (12) for a minimum length of 5 mm (0.2 inch).Note: Use a Maximum force of 625 kN (140000 lb) when the track is assembled.
Use Tooling (E) to install bushing (12) in link (13). The bushing must extend 1.80 0.13 mm (0.070 0.005 inch) beyond the surface of the link.

Put link (13), bushing (12), and link (11) in position in Tooling (E), as shown.
Use Tooling (B) to align link (11) and link (13).
Install bushing (12) in link (11) with Tool (E). Install the bushing until the bushing makes contact with the 1P-3489 Adapter. The bushing must extend 1.80 0.13 mm (0.070 0.005 inch) beyond the surface of the link.

The counterbore in the links must be clean and free of oil. Do not allow oil to come in contact with load ring (14). The load ring will swell and deteriorate if it comes in contact with oil.
Install load ring (14), seal (9), and ring (10) in each side of the link assembly. Put clean SAE 90W oil on the sharp sealing edge of the seal only.

The seals and rings must be in position in link assembly (8). Put clean SAE 90W oil on the sealing edge of the seals.
Use Tooling (C) to spread link assembly (8). Install link assembly (7).
Do not damage the face of the seals when link assembly (8) is installed.
Install link assembly (7) to link assembly (8). Install Tooling (B) to hold the link assembly in place.

Use Tooling (C) to spread link assembly (7). Connect link assembly (7) to link assembly (6).
Install link assembly (7) to link assembly (6). Install Tooling (B) to hold the link assembly in place.

Install stoppers (15) in the track pins. Install the stoppers 8 4 mm (0.31 0.15 inch) below the surface of the track pin.
Illustration 7 g00735169Note: The pin must be installed with the hole end on the same side of the track assembly for the entire length of the track assembly. The oil cross hole in the pin must be within 20 degrees of the vertical centerline and of the pin bore. The pins are marked on the end of the crosshole. The pin must be installed with a minimum amount of force. This will get a maximum amount of end play 0.13 mm (0.005 inch). The end play is between the bushing and the thrust ring.
Fasten a hoist to Tooling (F). Using Tooling (F) to install track pins (4) and track pins (5). This will remove Tooling (B) out of the link assemblies. Install the track pins 3 mm (0.18 inch) on both sides of the link assembly.

Fill the track pins with 26 to 29 mL (.88 to .98 oz) to 29 mL (0.98 oz) of SAE 90W oil.
Put oil on plug (16). Use Tool (G) and install the plug until the plug is even with the end of the stopper.
