Move throttle control switch (6) to the HIGH IDLE position twice. For each switch actuation, hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second. The engine speed should increase to 2200 rpm.

Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature on the operator display. Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 43 5.6 °C (110 10 °F).
Move throttle control switch (6) to the LOW IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second.

Insert red probe from Tool (A) into one slot of outlet (8). Insert black probe from Tool (A) into the other slot of the outlet. Check the frequency. The frequency should be 60 1 Hz.
Remove probes from outlet (8). Check the frequency of the remaining outlets on the panel.
If the frequency is inside the specified range, go to Step 28. If the frequency is outside the specified range, go to Step 15.

Open right access panel (9) on the right side of the machine.

Insert red spoon from Tool (B) into contact "2" (white wire) of connector (10) for the generator speed sensor. Connect red spoon to Tool (A) .
Insert black spoon from Tool (B) into contact "3" (black wire) of connector (10) for the generator speed sensor. Connect black spoon to Tool (A) .
Set Tool (A) to read frequency.
If the machine is equipped with a 25 kW generator, value on Tool (A) should be 1440 26 Hz. If the machine is equipped with a 35 kW generator, value on Tool (A) should be 1560 26 Hz.
Move generator switch (7) to the OFF position.
Move throttle control switch (6) to the LOW IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second.

After the engine reaches low idle, move engine start switch (11) to the OFF position.

The frequency of the generator speed sensor is within the specified range. Go to Step 24.
The frequency of the generator speed sensor is stable, but the frequency is outside the specified range. Go to Step 25.
The frequency of the generator speed sensor is zero, or the frequency reading is erratic. Go to Step 26.
The generator motor and hydraulic system are operating correctly. The generator electrical system is not operating properly. Repair or replace the generator, and retest the generator frequency.
Divide the frequency measured in Step 19 by the frequency measured in Step 12. If the machine is equipped with a 25 kW generator, the result should be approximately 24. If the machine is equipped with a 35 kW generator, the result should be approximately 26. Choose the statement that describes the observed condition from the following list:
