Take extreme care to insure the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil. Keep the hydraulic oil clean in order to extend the component life and assure the maximum performance.

The filter is on the right side of the top engine compartment. The filter is located on the side of the hydraulic tank.
In order to catch any oil that spills, place a suitable container under the filter. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "General Hazard Information" for information that pertains to fluid spillage.
Remove the plug in the bottom of the filter housing in order to pre-drain the filter housing.
Remove the filter housing with a 1.25 inch socket or box end wrench. Do not use an air wrench, open-end wrench, or adjustable wrench.
Remove the filter element from the filter housing, and discard the filter in a proper manner.
Clean the filter housing. Install the plug in the bottom of the filter housing.
Coat the new gasket with clean oil.
Install the new filter element and gasket in the filter housing.
Install the filter housing. Tighten the filter housing to a torque of 40 5 N m (30 4 lb ft).

Observe the level of the hydraulic oil in the sight glass. Maintain the oil level within the sight glass. When the oil is at ambient temperature, the oil should be visible within the bottom of the sight glass. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)".
