Implement ECM 10 VDC Power Supply connections
This diagnostic code is associated with the Implement ECM 10 volt sensor power supply. The 10 volt sensor power supply provides power for the right hand joystick and the auxiliary attachment control components.Note: The Implement ECM 10 volt sensor power supply is one of two power supplies that are used for the right hand joystick. The other power source for the right hand joystick is supplied by the Transmission Chassis ECM.The CID 1482 FMI 03 diagnostic code is activated when the Implement ECM detects that the voltage of the 10 volt power supply circuit is above normal. The following conditions could cause this diagnostic code:
The power supply circuit is shorted to a higher voltage source.
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely.Note: Before performing this procedure, inspect the harness connectors that are involved in the circuit. Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean, secure and in good condition. If a problem with a connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure. Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear the diagnostic codes when the problem has been corrected.Test Step 1. CHECK THE VOLTAGE AT THE COMPONENT
Turn the disconnect switch and the key switch to the ON position.
At the right hand joystick connector J1, insert a 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe along the supply wire 709-OR(Orange) at contact J1-1. Insert a 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe along the return wire A295-BK(Black) at contact J1-3.
Measure the voltage between the supply contact J1-1 and the return contact J1-3. Expected Result:The voltage measurement is 10.0 0.4 VDC.Results:
OK - The voltage measurement is 10.0 0.4 VDC. The voltage is correct. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NOT OK - The voltage measurement is greater than 10.0 0.4 VDC. The voltage measurement is not correct. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE POWER SUPPLY AT THE ECM
Turn the disconnect switch and the key switch to the OFF position.
At the Implement ECM connector J1, use a 151-6320 Removal Tool or a similar tool to remove the power supply wire and socket at contact J1-69 (wire 709-OR(Orange)) from the connector. The machine harness connector J1 remains connected to the ECM.
At the Implement ECM connector J1, insert a 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe along the return wire A295-BK(Black) and socket at contact J1-70.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key switch to the ON position.
Use a multimeter probe in order to make contact on the ECM connector pin at contact J1-69. Measure the voltage at the ECM between the power supply contact J1-69 and the return contact J1-70. Expected Result:The voltage measurement is 10.0 0.4 VDC.Results:
OK - The voltage measurement is 10.0 0.4 VDC. The voltage is correct. The ECM power supply is correct. Install the wire and socket that were removed from the J1
