Use Caterpillar electronic service tools to check the active diagnostic codes.Note: If the customer has selected "DERATE" and if there is a low oil pressure condition, the Electronic Control Module (ECM) will limit the engine power until the problem is corrected. If the oil pressure is within the normal range, the engine may be operated at the rated speed and load. However, maintenance should be performed as soon as possible.The active diagnostic code should be investigated. The cause of the problem should be corrected as soon as possible. If the cause of the active diagnostic code is repaired and there is only one active diagnostic code, the diagnostic lamp will turn off.Operation of the engine and performance of the engine can be limited as a result of the active diagnostic code that is generated. Acceleration rates may be significantly slower. Refer to the Troubleshooting Guide for more information on the relationship between these active diagnostic codes and engine performance.
