Remove bolts (1) and washers (2) . Remove covers (3) and (4) above the counterweight.

Typical ExampleNote: If there is too much tension or too little tension on the cable, the counterweight mounting bolts will be difficult to remove.
Fasten an appropriate rated cable (5) with shackles to the brackets on counterweight (6) . Use an appropriate lifting device in order to tension cable (5) .

Remove counterweight mounting bolts (7) and the spacers that secure the counterweight to the machine.
Remove the bolts, the washers and the plate which is located below the counterweight. The weight of the counterweight is approximately 11000 kg (24250 lb) .

Separate counterweight (6) from the machine. Position counterweight (6) on suitable supports (8) .Installation Procedure
Unexpected machine movement can cause injury or death.To avoid possible machine movement, place the hydraulic activation control lever to the locked position and attach a Special Instruction, SEHS7332, "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the control lever.
Personal injury or death can occur from a counterweight falling during removal or installation.Do not allow personnel under or around the counterweight during removal or installation.Make sure that the lifting device is in good condition and is capable of handling the weight of the counterweight.
Make certain personnel are clear of cable when there is a load on it. Cable can break and cause personal injury.

Lift counterweight (6) and place the counterweight in position on the machine.
Put 4C-5592 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of counterweight mounting bolts (7) . Apply 4C-5592 Anti-Seize Compound between the bolt heads and the spacers.Note: If there is too little tension or too much tension on cable (5) , bolts (7) will be difficult to install.
