An open/short circuit has been identified and is causing the replacement of boom over load pressure sensors for a premature alarm condition.The wire fit in the plug connector allows for water to enter the receptacle connector when pressure washing or if the wires bend from the plug connector.Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem, but a permanent correction action has not been identified.If water entering the receptacle connector is an issue, then replace the 237-0227 Connector Plug As with 240-7879 Connector Plug As (2) and also use 311-8728 Connector Adapter (1) . Using 240-7879 Connector Plug As (2) will allow for a tighter seal on the wires. The new plug connector also ensures that the wires will not bend from the plug connector.Using 311-8728 Connector Adapter (1) will help keep the water off plug connector while pressure washing. Avoid direct spray while pressure washing.
