Most accidents that involve product operation, maintenance, and repair are caused by failure to observe basic safety rules or precautions. An accident can often be avoided by recognizing potentially hazardous situations before an accident occurs. A person must be alert to potential hazards. This person should also have the necessary training, skills, and tools in order to perform these functions properly.Refer to the appropriate Parts Manual, Operation and Maintenance Manual, Disassembly and Assembly Manual, and Service Manual.Safety precautions and warnings are provided in the manuals and on the product. If these hazard warnings are not heeded, bodily injury or death could occur to you or to other persons. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your machine.
Park the machine on a smooth, level surface. Move away from other operating machines and away from personnel.
Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep other personnel away from the machine or in the operator's sight.
Lower the implements to the ground.Adjustment Procedure

Locate the slide plate. The slide plate is on the left hand side of the seat.
Illustration 2 g01487495
Locate the two access holes on the slide plate. The two access holes are used in order to allow tightening.
Illustration 3 g01487504
Slide the seat forward and slide the seat rearward in order to align the access holes with the gold colored screw.
Illustration 4 g01487539
Use a 1/8th allen wrench to tighten the screw. Tightening the screw forces the plastic block of the slide outward. Forcing the block outward takes up the free play within the slide assembly. Tighten the screws by a quarter of a turn at a time and try the slide until all the free play has been removed.
Illustration 5 g01487554
Overtightening will lock the slide assembly. The assembly should not exceed a force of 89 22 N (20 5 lb) in order to slide in the forward or rearward direction. To check, lift the handle for the slide and pull the seat forward. Use a gauge to measure pulling force.
Repeat the tightening procedure to obtain force of 89 22 N (20 5 lb).
Loosen the screws by a quarter of a turn at a time if the force is greater than 89 22 N (20 5 lb). Obtain a force of 89 22 N (20 5 lb).
