Slow Steering
Follow the procedure in this reference. Refer to “The Brake Does Not Engage” in this module under Troubleshooting, "Brake Troubleshooting".Results
"REPAIRED OKAY": Stop.
"NOT OKAY": The cause of the problem is uncertain. Please call technical support with the information that has been gathered.The Machine Does Not Turn In One Direction
Follow this procedure when the machine moves straight and one of the steering controls is pulled backward. The machine slows when the steering control is pulled back over half of the travel. The machine turns when the other steering control is pulled back.
Check the clutch and brake pressures. Expected Results
The pressures are correct.Results
"OKAY": Proceed to Step 2.
"STEERING CLUTCH PRESSURE IS INCORRECT": Proceed to Step 3.
"BRAKE PRESSURE IS INCORRECT": Proceed to Step 4.
Manually inspect the brake and steering clutches.
Disassemble the brake and steering clutches and inspect. Reference: Refer to the procedures in Disassembly and Assembly, RENR8226, "Steering Clutch and Brake" in the Service Manual for your machine.
Check these components of the brake and steering clutches for failure: seals, splines, friction discs and plates.
Repair the components or replace the components, if necessary.
Calibrate each steering clutch. Reference: For the D11T, refer to Specifications, Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, RENR8224, "System Calibrations".Expected Results
The original problem is resolved.Results

Check the pump pressure. Reference: Refer to Testing and Adjusting, RENR8224, "Priority Valve-Adjust".Expected Results

"NOT OKAY": The cause of the problem may be the adjustment of the priority valve. The priority valve maintains the pressure in the control section of the power train oil pump. The priority valve affects the brake pressures proportionally. Proceed to Step 5.
