1. Remove thirteen bolts and washers (1).2. Remove base (2) and gasket.3. Remove rocker arm oil line (3). 4. Remove twenty-five bolts and washers (4).5. Install two 3/8"-16 NC forged eyebolts. Fasten a hoist to the cylinder head assembly. 6. Remove cylinder head assembly (5). Weight of the cylinder head assembly is 300 lb. (135 kg). 7. Remove cylinder head gasket (6) and water seals (7).8. Remove the front cylinder head assembly. Follow Steps 1 through 7.Install Cylinder Head Assembly
Check seals and gaskets. If damaged, use new parts for replacement. 1. Install new head gasket (1) on the spacer plate. Install water seals (2).
Make sure water seals are in correct place and be sure cylinder head assembly is in position flat against the cylinder head gasket.
2. Fasten a hoist to the cylinder head assembly. Put cylinder head assembly (3) in position on the spacer plate.3. Put 9M3710 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the bolts that hold the cylinder head assembly in position.4. Install the twenty-five bolts and washers that hold the cylinder head assembly in position.5. Tighten the bolts to the correct torque as follows: a) Tighten bolts 1 through 20 in number sequence shown to a torque of 180 10 lb. ft. (247 14 N m).b) Tighten bolts 1 through 20 again in number sequence to a torque of 300 10 lb. ft. (410 14 N m).c) Tighten bolts 21 through 25 in number sequence shown to a torque of 75 10 lb. ft. (100 14 N m).d) Tighten bolts 1 through 20 again in number sequence (hand torque only) to a torque of 300 10 lb. ft. (410 14 N m).e) Tighten bolts 21 through 25 again in number sequence to a torque of 75 10 lb. ft. (100 14 N m). 6. Install new gasket on the cylinder head assembly. Install base (4) and the thirteen washers and bolts that hold the base to the cylinder head assembly.7. Install the rocker arm oil line.8. Install the front cylinder head assembly. Follow Steps 1 through 7.end by:a) install rocker shaft assembly and push rodsb) install exhaust manifoldc) install water manifoldd) install inlet manifolde) install fuel lines
