The following procedure is used to modify the former radiator shields. The fan guard assemblies will directly bolt to the modified radiator shields. Replacement of the radiator shields is not necessary if these instructions are performed.
Do not attempt to disassemble or assemble this machine until you read and understand the disassembly and assembly instructions. Improper disassembly and assembly procedures could result in injury or death.

Remove the two lower radiator shields from the machine. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly manual for more information on this topic.

Bolt up the two lower fan guards to the two lower shields. This step uses the new guards as a template to drill the new holes.
Drill a 13 mm (0.512 inch) hole in location (A) and location (B) .
Weld in two nuts (1) to the back of shields in location (A) and location (B). Refer to Illustration 1.
Install the two lower radiator shields to the machine. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly manual for more information on this topic.
Use bolts (2) and washers (3) to install new fan guard assemblies on the machine.
